A  VINTAGE  SPANISH  INDUSTRIAL

Almost certainly the oldest industrial at work in Northern Spain until it was broken up in 1963, 29 SAN SEBASTIAN was also the solitary 5ft 6in gauge locomotive at the predominantly 65cm gauge Santa Ana mines of the Sociedad Metalurgica Duro-Felguera. Years ago SAN SEBASTIAN worked on the old Norte Railway with other locomotives built by Graffenstaden, but when Ron Fraser took this photograph on 4th June 1962 it was a cool 103 years old! But then, not every locomotive has its own personal patron saint to watch over it!
