PRESERVATION AT STRATFORD
This vintage wagon is preserved near to the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford-on-Avon, and was presented to the town by the Great Western‘ Railway. It was used on the tramway between Stratford and Moreton-in-the-Marsh which was built in 1826, closed in 1881 and lifted in 1916. Faded lettering on the side of the wagon reads "THOMAS HUTCHINGS, NEWBOLD LIME WORKS". (John Rumsey supplied the photograph and information.)
